Retired
"Retired" 18x24 acrylic on stretched canvas Retired is a painting from a combination of reference photos I took around southern Louisiana. The old tractor reminded me of summer days I spent at my Grandfather’s farm. Back then it was horse and plow, but the old tractor still brought back the memories. The view from a low angle represents the wonder and awe of my childhood days while the rust and flat tires reminded me of time passed and that all things come to an end. The flock of geese is also a reminder of the passing seasons. Winning a silver medal in the 35th Rice Capital Juried Show, being selected for several juried art shows including the 55th River Road Show, a national juried exhibition and the 2025 ArtFields Festival makes "Retired" one of my favorite works of art.
